Natural Stone - Granite, Marble, Quartzite -

Natural stone is a product from nature. They are quarried materials, which means that the blocks are extracted out of a quarry, cut into slabs and their surface polished. Each slab is unique. Therefore, regardless of the natural stone classification (granite, marble, quartzite), the mineral composition, substance and overall function of it will vary from piece to piece. Each natural stone product will have its own story to tell with the movement on the slab and color variations.

Please note that all Natural Stones are porous, however, some stones are less porous than others. Therefore, all natural stone products will need to be sealed..

Quartz

Quartz is an engineered stone, Due to the manufacturing process, engineered stone has the same durability as natural stone products. This durability also means that, unlike other types of stone countertops, quartz resists staining or corrosion from cooking oils, liquids and most household cleaning products – so there’s no need for periodic resealing of the surface. Quartz products are super hard and low maintenance. And, quartz is available in a dazzling array of colors.

Quartz can be damaged by excessive heat, however, so homeowners should use trivets or heating pads

Porcelain

Porcelain belongs to a newer product category introduced within the last decade for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications. Its durability, versatility and low maintenance are the major advantages.  Porcelain is non-porous, therefore it does not need to be sealed after installation.

Porcelain can be formed into large slabs because of its thin, lightweight properties. The large format reduces the number of seams in the countertop, and allows the product to be used for a wider range of applications, including flooring and interior wall cladding.

Recycled Glass

This environmentally friendly material is a mix of recycled glass that can be used to create highly durable, beautifully colored slabs. There are several forms of recycled glass countertops and they're made using different materials. The glass is the common element among them, but it's what's "mixed in" (or not) with the recycled glass that's different.

Some products use a cement-based material whereas others use a resin formula. Then there's the "all glass" versions that simply use recycled glass alone to form new solid glass counters. Each has their own set of attributes so you'll want to understand what they offer and how they might fit into your lifestyle.

Cement based recycled glass countertops require a sealer that must be applied periodically to protect them from acidic substances like citric juices, red wine and vinegar that can etch the surface. They're also porous and sealing them helps protect against staining.

Resin based countertops provide a non-porous surface and don't require sealing to protect them from stains or solutions that might injure the surface. In that way they're similar to quartz countertops which are crushed quartz crystals held together in a resin-based matrix.

Sinks

There are many options available in selecting a sink due to the variety of styles, materials and mounting options.

Undermount sinks are a type of sink that attaches to the bottom of the countertop, offering a sleek and seamless appearance to your kitchen. Because undermount sinks mount below the countertop, there is no lip, so food and other debris can be wiped easily into the sink.

Drop-in sinks are a type of sink designed to drop into an opening in the countertop. An appropriately sized hole is cut into the countertop surface allowing for sink installation.

Apron sinks are also called farmhouse sinks. This type of sink design incorporates a large apron that drops down the front of the sink or cabinets.

Vessel or top-mount sinks rest on the surface of your countertop. Supported by an applicable type of base, this sink mounting method eliminates the need to cut a large hole in your countertop surface because only a small hole for the drain is required.

Stone Castle can incorporate any sink or mounting option you choose into the countertop during the fabrication process, or we work with the following manufacturers:
